General Anxiety (Adults)

What Is Generalised Anxiety Disorder?

Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is a common anxiety condition characterised by persistent and excessive worry about everyday situations. People with GAD often find themselves worrying about multiple areas of life, including health, family, finances, work and relationships, even when there is little evidence that something is wrong.

Many people describe feeling unable to switch their thoughts off, constantly overthinking situations, expecting the worst or worrying about things that may never happen. This ongoing worry can feel exhausting and can affect sleep, concentration, confidence and overall wellbeing.
