Panic Attacks

Panic disorder is an anxiety disorder characterised by frequent and sudden panic attacks. These attacks can occur without warning and often involve intense fear or discomfort. While anxiety and panic are natural responses to stress, those with panic disorder experience these feelings regularly, even in non-threatening situations.

How Can I Help...

I offer a range of therapeutic approaches that can help both children and adults with this presentation:

​

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Talking therapy which can be adapted for Neurodiverse individuals.

  • Parenting support and training sessions.

  • Family therapy.

  • Neurodiversity Coaching. 

  • Animal therapy.

What are the symptoms of a Panic Attack...

​

  • A pounding or racing heartbeat. Shortness of breath or feeling like you're choking.

  • Chest pain.

  • Dizziness.

  • Sweating Trembling.

  • Nausea.

  • Feelings of dread, feeling disconnected from your mind, body or surroundings. 

​

During a panic attack, you might feel afraid that you're losing control, going to faint, having a heart attack, going to die.
