Service Description

What Can You Expect from DBT Support? Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based talking therapy designed for people who experience intense emotions, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, impulsive behaviour or problems with distress tolerance. It is particularly helpful for ADHD, autism and other neurodivergent profiles, supporting focus, concentration, sustained attention and everyday coping skills. DBT is suitable for adults, teenagers and children, including those dealing with sensory overload, sensory overwhelm, or difficulties managing intense emotional or physical responses. DBT is also effective for people struggling with executive functioning difficulties, such as problems with organisation, planning, prioritising and time management, which are common in ADHD and neurodivergent presentations. I deliver DBT-informed skills, following training with British Isles DBT Training, using structured, practical techniques that help you understand emotions, stay grounded and respond more effectively to daily challenges. DBT can help with: • Emotional dysregulation and feeling overwhelmed easily • ADHD-related difficulties, including focus, attention and impulsivity • Executive functioning problems: organisation, planning, decision-making and time management • Sensory overwhelm / sensory overload and managing intense reactions • Anxiety, low mood and stress • Relationship issues, communication problems and conflict • Distress tolerance, crisis coping and grounding strategies These approaches support people searching for help with DBT therapy near me, DBT for ADHD, DBT for emotional regulation, DBT for sensory overload, DBT for executive functioning difficulties, DBT for teenagers, and DBT for neurodivergent adults and children. How DBT Support Is Delivered • Online DBT therapy for adults, teens and couples • Face-to-face DBT therapy in Shaw (Oldham) at an additional cost If you choose face-to-face support, a clinic room must be booked in advance. Clinic-room fees are set by the clinic, not Prior Mindset, and are non-refundable in accordance with the clinic’s policy. Home visits may be available depending on location and the Prior Mindset Travel Policy. Complexity and Additional Fees Where cases involve higher risk, multi-agency involvement or increased clinical oversight, additional fees may apply due to the need for private clinical supervision at my own cost. Any changes are discussed clearly during assessment and reviewed if needs evolve.
